What is bacteriostatic water used for?
Bacteriostatic water is used to reconstitute lyophilised (freeze-dried) research peptides into a measurable liquid. Its 0.9% benzyl alcohol preserves a multi-use vial for several weeks.
How is it different from sterile or distilled water?
The benzyl alcohol preservative inhibits bacterial growth, so a vial drawn from repeatedly stays usable far longer than non-preserved water. Use bacteriostatic water for any multi-use reconstitution.
